About Stock Theme Radar

Stock Theme Radar is an independent research tool for exploring publicly traded stocks and ETFs through a structured, model-driven scoring framework — organized around macro investment themes. It is an educational project, not a professional financial service.

What this site does

Scores each covered stock and ETF across 6 filing-derived factors and produces a composite model score (0–100).
Assigns a risk rating across 6 levels (Very Low → Very High) based on balance sheet and earnings quality metrics.
Maps stocks to macro investment themes — AI infrastructure, defense, nuclear energy, digital payments, and more.
Generates AI-assisted research summaries, bull/bear cases, and plain-language overviews from filing-sourced data.
Provides filtering, comparison, portfolio analysis, and curated watchlists as research starting points.

Data sources

Scoring data for the majority of covered stocks is sourced exclusively from annual regulatory filings retrieved from SEC EDGAR— the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's public filing database. This includes 10-K annual reports for U.S.-listed companies and 40-F filings for Canadian companies cross-listed on U.S. exchanges. EDGAR data is free, government-maintained, and publicly available.

Coverage notes

A subset of Canadian TSX-only stocks and ETFs are not yet covered by the v2 pipeline. Their pages show basic identification and theme information while expanded filings-based research is being prepared. No real-time market data, prices, or paid data providers are used.

How the scoring model works

Each stock is evaluated across six dimensions derived directly from filing data. Sub-scores are 0–20 each. The composite model score (0–100) is a weighted average of the six sub-scores, with weights adjusted for the selected investment goal profile.

AI-generated content

Research summaries, bull/bear cases, risk explanations, and plain-language overviews are generated by Anthropic Claude using the filing-derived sub-scores and metrics as input. The model is explicitly instructed to ground all analysis in filing data only — no market prices, P/E ratios, or price-derived metrics are used as inputs or referenced in outputs. AI text reflects a snapshot of data as of the report date and may not be current. Always verify specific figures through primary sources.
