Score Pending — Limited Data
We do not currently have enough commercially displayable fund-specific data to calculate a reliable score. This is not a negative assessment of the ETF.
ETFs on this site are scored by a separate, fund-specific model sourced from official SEC filings (Form N-PORT, N-CEN, Risk/Return Summary) when enough evidence exists -- this is not the same model or scale used for operating-company research pages. How it works →

Fund Overview
HMAX is a single-sector Canadian equity fund managed by Hamilton ETFs, holding Canada's major chartered banks and writing an actively managed covered-call options overlay against those holdings to generate additional income.
Index Strategy
HMAX holds a market-capitalization-weighted portfolio of Canada's Big Six banks and writes at-the-money covered call options against a portion of that portfolio on an actively managed basis, rather than passively tracking a licensed third-party index. The fund does not use leverage.
Geographic Exposure
All underlying holdings are Canadian chartered banks listed on Canadian exchanges; the fund does not hold securities listed on foreign exchanges.
Principal Risks
As a fund that writes call options against some or all of its equity holdings to generate additional income, HMAX.TO carries the risk that its covered-call overlay caps potential upside participation in a rising market in exchange for that income, in addition to the general equity-market and sector-concentration risk of its underlying equity portfolio.
