We do not currently have enough commercially displayable fund-specific data to calculate a reliable score. This is not a negative assessment of the ETF.

ETFs on this site are scored by a separate, fund-specific model sourced from official SEC filings (Form N-PORT, N-CEN, Risk/Return Summary) when enough evidence exists -- this is not the same model or scale used for operating-company research pages. How it works →

Fund Overview

XQQ is the iShares NASDAQ 100 Index ETF (CAD-Hedged), managed by BlackRock Asset Management Canada Limited and listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange. It provides Canadian investors with exposure to large, non-financial U.S. companies listed on the Nasdaq Stock Market, with an added currency-hedging overlay intended to reduce the effect of Canadian-dollar/U.S.-dollar exchange-rate movements on returns.

Index Strategy

Multiple independent public sources (search-discovered; BlackRock's own product page and PDF documents were not successfully retrieved -- see source_documents) consistently describe XQQ's objective as long-term capital growth by tracking the NASDAQ-100 Index while hedging the resulting U.S.-dollar currency exposure back to Canadian dollars, net of fund expenses. The underlying NASDAQ-100 universe is a modified-capitalization-weighted index of the 100 largest non-financial companies listed on the Nasdaq exchange, with a well-documented tilt toward the technology sector; index membership and weights are set by Nasdaq, Inc., an independent third-party index provider (this index-level description is directly retrieved -- see source_documents).

Geographic Exposure

All underlying holdings are large-capitalization, primarily technology-sector companies listed on the Nasdaq exchange in the United States; the fund's U.S.-dollar currency exposure is substantially hedged back to the Canadian dollar.

Principal Risks

As a market-capitalization-weighted U.S. large-cap index fund with a currency-hedging overlay, XQQ carries general equity-market risk and sector-concentration risk common to its target index. The hedging strategy is intended to reduce, not eliminate, the effect of Canadian-dollar/U.S.-dollar exchange-rate movements on returns, and hedging itself introduces additional derivative-counterparty and tracking considerations relative to an unhedged fund.
