We do not currently have enough commercially displayable fund-specific data to calculate a reliable score. This is not a negative assessment of the ETF.

ETFs on this site are scored by a separate, fund-specific model sourced from official SEC filings (Form N-PORT, N-CEN, Risk/Return Summary) when enough evidence exists -- this is not the same model or scale used for operating-company research pages. How it works →

Fund Overview

ZLU is a U.S. equity fund managed by BMO Global Asset Management built around a lower-volatility factor strategy, selecting a subset of U.S. large-capitalization companies identified as having historically exhibited lower price volatility than the broader market, traded in Canadian-dollar units without a currency-hedging overlay.

Index Strategy

ZLU's portfolio is constructed using a proprietary, rules-based methodology developed by BMO Global Asset Management that selects historically lower-volatility U.S. large-capitalization companies from a defined starting universe, rather than tracking a licensed benchmark from an independent index provider.

Geographic Exposure

All underlying holdings are large-capitalization companies listed on U.S. exchanges; the fund's currency exposure to the U.S. dollar is not hedged back to the Canadian dollar.

Principal Risks

As a fund built around a rules-based, lower-volatility security-selection methodology rather than a licensed broad-market index, ZLU.TO carries factor risk -- the risk that the low-volatility factor underperforms the broader market in strongly rising markets -- in addition to general equity-market risk and the concentration risk inherent in selecting a narrower list of securities than the full underlying market.
